A Strategic Upstream Energy Project in Iraq

The Khliesiea Block covers approximately 8,177 km² of high-potential acreage rich in natural gas and condensate resources. It represents a cornerstone of Iraq’s upstream expansion strategy, strengthening gas supply diversification for power generation and industrial use.

Operated by KAR OG KH BLOCK DMCC under the EDPC framework and in partnership with Midland Oil Company (MdOC), the project is implemented in strict compliance with Iraqi law and international standards for safety, transparency, and environmental protection.

The Khliesiea Project is among Iraq’s most strategic upstream investments, designed to enhance domestic energy independence and support long-term growth.

More than 350 direct and indirect jobs will be created, with over 85% of the workforce being Iraqi nationals, particularly from both Anbar and Nineveh governorates
